I was moved by the session I gave today with a sweet older woman who was experiencing massage and sound healing for the first time in her life.
I didn't know much about this person. Aside from her name, she told me that her feet and midback cause her a lot of pain. That's about all I could get out of her in the beginning. I explained to her the flow of a session with me and could sense how brand new all of this was to her, I could tell that she didn't know what to make of it all.
She Kept most of her clothes on for the session and also let me know that touch was not something that she was very comfortable with. She got cozy on the table and we began. The singing bowls played beautifully and were happy to finally be singing for her. It always feels like a bit of a reunion, playing bowls for someone for the first time. I could feel her allowing herself to relax more and more as time went on.
When I placed my hands at her feet and grounded my energy, I began to call in her guides and asked to be shown the work being called forth in our session today. I asked to be shown what needs the most healing within this person.
I was taken aback when I was flooded with images of her father shooting her mother. And her husband shooting himself.
I breathed into the heavy movement that would come along with this session and began to love into every cell of this sweet human's body.
I made sure to use a confident touch. I made sure that even though she had her clothes on to still drape her body with the utmost professionalism. I could only assume that if the images I was shown were true, this person most definitely was having a difficult time feeling comfortable in this situation.
I finished the massage and encouraged her to take as much time as she desired to lay on the table and bathe in the warmth of how good it feels to be cared for and loved.
When we sat to chat after the session was over, I was a bit nervous to share with her what I had seen. This is an incredibly traumatic event, and I wouldn't want to force anyone to relive anything unnecessarily or unwillingly.
I asked her if it was okay to share some things that came through from spirit. She looked a little shocked and a little suspicious. I'm not too sure that she necessarily believes in the type of work that I do, or if she just doesn't know very much about it. It seemed like a whole new world to her. I shared with her what I had seen at the beginning of our session and I could tell immediately that whatever I had seen was awakening something deep within her. She confirmed that when she was 5 her father shot her mother and killed her, and later in life when she was 27, her husband shot and killed himself. She now works in the emergency room and thrives off of the adrenaline rush and chaos that exists within that realm but realizes the toll it's taking on her. I passed along the messages that these spirits had for her and reassured her that she was allowed to have her own story. It's never too late to rewrite your story. Or to begin a whole new chapter. I reminded her that these spirits are always with us and always looking after us. She was moved to tears through this conversation and for the first time in her entire life, she's wanting to find different ways to begin consciously reweaving the story of her life.
